Kabir's Kitchen
— North Indian non-veg, Navrangpura
The murgh malai tikka at Kabir's Kitchen is the best argument for non-veg in a proudly vegetarian city. The tandoor has been running since 1991. The owner, Kabir Hussain, still comes in at 6am to marinate the meat. The biryani takes four hours and it shows.
Kabir's is not easy to find — it's in a lane off Relief Road with no signage visible from the street, and the parking situation requires creative thinking. None of that stops it filling every night from 7pm onwards.
Order the seekh kebab, the dal makhani, and if you're there on a Friday, the biryani. Skip the Chinese section entirely. The lassi is excellent. Cash only.
