The best dhokla in the city, served at the speed of a chaiwalla. Dal & Dhokla has nine locations across Ahmedabad and the quality is consistent in a way that ought to be impossible for a fast-casual chain. The fafda-jalebi combo at breakfast is one of the great cheap meals in Gujarat.
The Bodakdev branch is the original and still the best. The dhokla is steamed fresh every two hours. The khaman is softer than air. The green chutney is made from scratch each morning.
Don't come here for the ambiance — the lighting is fluorescent and the seating is bench-style. Come here because ₹120 buys you a breakfast that will keep you going until dinner.
